US Coast Guard NEWS

On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, a Coast Guard boat and air crews worked together for a unique rescue of two people stranded on a disabled boat at the mouth of the Detroit River late Tuesday night.

It was a record-setting year for the Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race, with overall elapsed and monohull times being eclipsed on the 125-mile course from California to Baja Mexico. But following the April 22 start, the race for Gordon Leon’s Farr 40 Foil became about a rescue.
