The Storm Trysail Foundation plays a vital role in advancing safety, seamanship, and youth education in the sport of sailing. While many are familiar with its support of cornerstone programs like the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta and Safety at Sea seminars for both juniors and adults, the Foundation’s reach extends far beyond these flagship efforts.

Through generous donations from our community, the Foundation also supports 11 community sailing programs and four Sea Scouts “ships”—providing hands-on sailing opportunities and mentorship for the next generation of sailors.

One of the Foundation’s notable partners is SoundWaters, a Stamford, CT-based organization dedicated to environmental education and stewardship of Long Island Sound. Their educational sailing vessel is just one example of how the Foundation helps extend the values of seamanship and marine awareness well beyond racing circles.
