The largest student regattas are now partners!

When Francis Prat, Jean-Luc Picot and Pierre Jouannet organized the first EDHEC Cup in May 1969, they never imagined that this event would become and remain the leader in intercollegiate sailing.

This year again, we are proud to announce our partnership with the Storm TRYSAIL Foundation.

One exciting result of our partnership is the “crew exchange” between the Storm TRYSAIL Foundation and the EDHEC Sailing Cup. This year, the ENSEIRB engineer school from Bordeaux competed on the IOR. In order to increase participation from our side of the sea, the EDHEC Sailing Cup has added the EDHEC Challenge to the 2016 Storm TRYSAIL Foundation IOR. The winning qualifying crew from the EDHEC Challenge will compete in the 49th EDHEC Sailing Cup in the Crouesty Harbor, Arzon, France.

Making this event entirely unique to other competitions, the EDHEC Sailing Cup is organized by a team of 52 EDHEC Business School students selected for a two-year internship and is the largest and among one of Europe’s most prestigious sporting events.

In past years, among the 22 countries, 3,000 students and 180 crews who compete, Queensland University of Technology, University of Chicago, Bocconi, MIT, Cambridge, Oxford, École Polytechnique, and London Business School were represented. Last year, the 48th edition attracted 3,000 students who gathered in Roscoff, France and remains a pioneer in high-level competitions as the premier sports event organized by students for students.

The EDHEC Sailing Cup is among the oldest competitions in all of Europe. In fact, the 49th EDHEC Sailing Cup is older than the Vendee Globe, the Solitaire du Figaro, and the Tour de France Sailing Race.

The next edition will take place from March 31 to April 8 in Arzon, France. We hope to see you there!
